On "Aloha"
From The Dispatch:
Crowe clearly has the chops, but he just doesn't seem to be that inspired by the film's Hawaiian setting, turning in a film that feels more like a tourist's emulation of the Aloha State than an authentic evocation of its culture. It's all surface beauty with no real depth. Crowe paints with a broad and often heavy-handed brush, leaving us with a film that seems strangely unsure of itself and what it wants to be.Click here to read my full review.
