Disney Plans New 3D Re-releases
Following the success of their Lion King 3D re-release, Disney has unveiled plans for four additional 3D revivals from their catalogue - Beauty and the Beast (1/13/12), Finding Nemo (9/14/12), Monsters, Inc. (1/18/13), and The Little Mermaid (9/13/13).
While the re-releases of newer titles like Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc. don't particularly interest me, but the releases of Beauty and Mermaid make sense. The Little Mermaid is particularly special to me, since it was the first movie I ever saw in a theater when I was just three years old.
It's an inevitable development following the unexpected success of The Lion King 3D, and I will be interested to see how other studios follow suit.
