Comments
Exquisite and delightfully eclectic list, with some gems there for sure, though I continue to consider THE WHITE RIBBON, vastly overrated despite its beautiful black and white cinematography by Christian Bergen. But I am in a major minority there. I correctly figured your #1 out, but you made no effort to conceal that for many weeks at this site.
My own:
1 Bright Star
2 Avatar
3 35 Shots of Rum (France)
4 Up
5 A Single Man
6 Police Adjective (Romania)
7 Everlasting Moments (Sweden)
8 Summer Hours (France)
9 A Serious Man
10 District 9 and Star Trek (tie)
Just missed:
Anti-Christ (Denmark)
Of Time and the City (UK)
Rembrandt's J'Accuse (UK)
The Son (Japan)
The Hurt Locker
Flame and Citron (Denmark)
Tokyo Sonata (Japan)
Somers Town (UK)
La Danse
Seraphine (France)
House of the Devil
In the Loop (UK)
I accidentally left off THE LAST STATION and ME AND ORSON WELLES, which also must be add to the just missed scroll.
In any case I do look forward to seeing your #3, as soon as it's available on DVD.
MUYURANGABO is currently available on DVD from Film Movement - http://www.amazon.com/Munyurangabo-Jeff-Rutagengwa-as/dp/B0023VM7AU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1262473636&sr=1-1-spell
I did make one change on my list. My #10 tie between DISTRICT 9 and STAR TREK has now been altered. Those two will be included on the "Just missed" while OF TIME AND THE CITY and TOKYO SONATA are in for the #10 tie.
