A Tribute to 2007
A wonderful tribute to a remarkable year.
I love how it accentuates one of Into the Wild's most brilliant strokes at the very beginning - how Penn films the scenes of McCandless' home life in claustrophobic close-ups, and the later wilderness scenes in sweeping wide angles. The inclusion of I Am Legend seems a bit questionable, and the dialogue snippet from Juno at the end is inappropriate and brings you right out of the piece, but overall this is a great year-end recap that gave me chills - the use of "Falling Slowly" from Once is a terrific choice.
