Film Screening at NC School of the Arts
For my North Carolina readers out there, the acclaimed documentary For the Bible Tells Me So, will be screening this evening at 7:00 p.m. at North Carolina School of the Arts campus ACE Theatre Complex. Tickets are $6.00.
A presentation of OUT at the Movies, For the Bible Tells Me So is a powerful documentary chronicling the experiences of five Christian families who discover that they have a gay child, and the effect it has on their lives. The film also features interviews with renowned Biblical scholars and theologians (such as Bishop Desmond Tutu) discussing what the Bible really says about homosexuality. You can read my four-star review here.
Reverend David and Mrs. Brenda Poteat and their daughter Tonia, one of the families chronicled in the film, will be in attendance at tonight's screening, and will participate in a question and answer session after the film.
This is a deeply moving and illuminating documentary. I don't use the words 'must-see' very often because I find them grossly overused, but For the Bible Tells Me So really deserves them. This is an encore presentation of the film, which was originally shown to a sold-out crowd in early December (where I first saw it), and has been brought back due to popular demand.
So head on over to the School of the Arts and bring your friends and family. I'm sure you will have plenty to talk about afterwards.
