"Cloverfield" Destroys Competition at Box Office
Weekend Box Office Estimates:
Source: Box Office Mojo
My first post-Cloverfield reaction proved true, it is indeed big, raking in over $40 million at the box office this weekend, nearly twice as much as the 2nd place finisher, the romantic comedy 27 Dresses.
In other good news, Atonement stays in the top ten, while There Will Be Blood nearly cracks it after expanding to 389 screens to the tune of $3,121,000, for an 11th place finish. Daniel Plainview would be pleased.
